Artemis is the Greek goddess of The Moon, the hunt, wild animals, virginity, wilderness and archery and is the protector of maidens and young girls. She is what Artemis city was named after.

She is known as one of the twin archers as her brother Apollo is also a god of archery, although he is god of the Sun and light, poetry, music, truth, prophecy, healing and plague. The two are the twin children of the titan Leto and the god Zeus.
